I"m not sure where he scored this tip from, however, it's a really need way to restore a tooth with an amalgam foundation restoration - without having to deal with the matrix band. Oh....those frustrating moments of placing a matrix band for a 5 surface amalgam....and then....trying to remove it at the exact moment without fracturing anything.
Indeed, this technique is for those teeth that you have treatment planned to receive a full coverage indirect restoration - a crown. I"m not sure this technique is useful for composite cores....I"ll have to give it a try.
