In this video air bubles in the middle ear are seen during the presence of otitis media with effusion. In some cases where there is no uncertainty (for example very thin and almost colourless fluid), the patient can be asked to blow the nose with the mouth closed. We can see bubbling, air or the present bubbles move/disperse. It may indicate that the Eustachian tube is functioning but its conduit may not be effective naturally (as in this film).
