Case description

Low back pain is very common. The sacroiliac joint is a major source of lower back pain. Pain originating from that joint is usually unappreciated, underdiagnosed, misunderstood. Patient experiencing lower back pain can spend months or even years in treatment without the correct diagnosis. Diagnostic injection of the sacroiliac joint is the only means to confirm it. The sacroiliac joints are so called weight bearing joints. They distribute all of the weight from the spine to the lower extremities, through the hip joints. There are a lot of important structures located near them. Symptoms of their disfunction are: lower back, buttock, back of the thigh and knee pain, occasional groin pain, difficulty and discomfort while sitting. The video contains thorough explanation of pathogenesis, clinical examination methods, differential diagnosis, probable causes and treatment.
