The purpose of this video is to demonstrate the surgical procedure that is used to treat instaged, advanced insertional achilles tendinosis. This is a condition where a patient develops calcifications, a bone spur and a chronic tearing in the Achilles tendon where it attaches to the heel. This condition can have very indifferent presentations and may not be as involved as will be shown in this video presentation. MRI scans and X-rays are shown, therapy methods are explained. Then the final solution, which is surgery is shown.
