Fugo Blade - inferior oblique myomectomy
Inferior oblique myomectomy - controlled myomectomy with use of Fugo Blade. Dalijt Singh. The incision of the conjunctiva and tenon capsule is made close to the equator of the eyeball, lateral to the inferior rectus. First is the inferior oblique muscle holded with a medium sized forceps, then is transferred to a stout forceps and pulled out of the incision line. Over two muscle hooks is spread the dark red coloured exposed inferior muscle. The muscle is peeled slowly in a bloodless manner. No muscle fixation is required. During procedure of paring with the Fugo Blade no bleeding occurs. When the inferior oblique muscle has been weakned to the desired extent, it is allowed to retract. The stitches between conjunctiva and the tenon are put. The whole surgery takes only a few minutes. There are no post-OP reaction observed.
