Case description

Lynch Syndrome, also called hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC), accounts for 2-3% of all colon cancer cases. Patients with Lynch Syndrome are not only at increased risk for devloping colon cancer, butr also endometrial cancer and several other associated cancers. By a patient's cancer history, and/or family history, you can be guided to knowing who to have further genetic testing, and what specific tests should be ordered. This can not only impact the patient, but their family members also. Two cases will be presented that will demonstrate who might have Lynch Syndrome and how they were evaluated. This lecture was presented at the 2012 annual American Assocation for Primary Care Endoscopy CME conference in San Francisco by Dr. David Strassler.
