Endoscopy Training in a Family Medicine Residency

A discussion of the startup and evolution of an upper and lower GI endoscopy program in a famly medicine residency program which focuses on preparing physicains for rural practice. A review of the program's endoscopy series including case numbers, cecal attainment rates, polyp and cancer detection rates, complications and number of residents trained who are currently doing endoscopy in practice are presented.
