Case description

This video presents an atrial fibrillation as a result of dobutamine stress echocardiography. Dobutamine is a sympathomimetic drug used in the treatment of heart failure and cardiogenic shock. It's primary mechanism is direct stimulation of β1 receptors of the sympathetic nervous system. It has the effect of increasing the atrioventricular (AV) conduction. AF is an infrequent complication of DSE. Most patients return to sinus rhythm spontaneously within 1 hour.
