Case description

Off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) is a form of coronary artery bridge graft. The main difference between those two procedures is the lack of necessity for stopping the heart and for cardiopulmonary bypass pump. This method was developed to avoid the consequences of using the pump, such as postperfusion syndrome. In addition the off-pump surgery being associated with the clinical benefits of a reduced risk of stroke or memory problems. Typically, patients also have a faster recovery and shorter hospital stay, fewer blood transfusions, and fewer unwanted inflammatory/immune response issues. This particular clip presents a case of 48 years old male patient who has been fully revascularized without using the extracorporeal circulation.
